China Super League is back and Tianjin Quanjian restarted with a great win. Paulo Sousa’s squad faced Guangzhou R&F this Tuesday and won the game with a 2-1 match score. The game was settled at Haihe Educational Football Stadium.

Despite having less ball possession in the opening half of the game – 40% against 60% -, Tianjin was more efficient. In three shots on goal, two found the net of the opponent. Yang Xu opened the score by the 6th minute of the game. Eighteen minutes later, was the time to Alexandre Pato, one of the great names of the team, score and make Tianjian 2-0.

Still in the first-half, Xuri Zhao, from the home team, was sent off with a red card. But the setback didn’t discourage Tianjin. Paulo Sousa’s squad maintained the positive result until the end. Guangzhou only scored at 43 minutes of the second half, with the Eran Zahavi’s goal.

The win on the 12th round of China Super League made Tianjin Quanjian overcome Guangzhou R&F in the national ranking. Now Paulo Sousa’s squad occupies the 6th place in table, with 18 points. The next match in CSL will be against Beijing Gouan, next Sunday, 22nd July.
